Dance Team
The Tiger Girls Dance Team is a precision dance group that promotes school spirit and generates enthusiasm for St. Agnes Academy. The Tiger Girls study and practice various levels of dance technique and styles while developing physical strength, flexibility, stamina, and coordination. The Tiger Girls perform at pep rallies, basketball games, one local competition, and two dance concerts. Team auditions occur in the spring and each member attends a mandatory dance camp in the summer. No previous dance training is required. All grade levels may audition. Practices will be held in the morning on Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. - 7:40 a.m. in the old gym. Tiger Girls will be eligible to earn a P.E. credit for membership. Team Auditions will be held in the gym on April 28, 2012 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Remix Dance Company
The Remix Dance Company is an elite group of dancers within the Tiger Girls Dance Team that will compete and focus on advanced dance technique. Remix will perform at special school events and attend a National competition in the spring. A student must be entering grades 11-12 to audition. Each company member is required to attend a mandatory camp in the summer. Dancers are chosen by team audition scores and by director recommendation. Remix dancers will be required to enroll in Competitive Dance and practice on occasional Saturdays. Remix will earn a Fine Art credit for the course. Remix Auditions will be held in the gym on April 28, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Officers
All officers must be familiar with everything expected of a team member, cooperate with the director and other officers, maintain a sense of responsibility for the organization, and represent St. Agnes Academy and the Tiger Girls dance team in a positive manner. Each officer sets an example for her fellow teammates by demonstrating a positive attitude, striving for academic excellence, and setting a high standard for herself and others. All officers tryout in the spring. Each officer is required to attend a mandatory training camp June 6 -10, 2012. Officers meet every Friday throughout the year.

2012 Audition information
Information Meeting: April 13, 3:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Dance Workshop: April 24 - 27, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Remix Audition: April 28, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Team Audition: April 28, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Make-up Auditions: May 5, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Location: New & Old Gym
Wear: Black leotard or tank top, black shorts, tights, ballet or jazz shoes, hair in a bun
What to expect: Registration, warm-up, learn a dance, and show skills
Skills: Right and left splits, double pirouette, toe touch, grand jete, and high kicks
Results: All results are final and will be emailed that evening

Please note that due to the nature of our program as a precision dance team we will not offer any solo make-up auditions. All candidates need learn the same choreography and show a panel of judges how well they can dance in relation to each other. Dancers are scored on memorization of choreography and precision of movement.
